    Hello.

Our radiologists are finalizing an agreement to read post-op x-rays for a local surgery center -- who wants our group to store the images. Does the surgery center have any obligations as the custodian of these records? (since they were the imaging facility)

Furthermore, the images would have to be stored on our JV imaging center servers, so there would need to be an additional agreement between our imaging center and surgery center.  Have any of you navigated similar "image storing" agreements?

    Thank you in advance,

The surgery center has the responsibility of being the legal custodian of those records. The state will have laws detailing what types of studies have to be stored for what lengths of time based on patient age, etc. They can contract with you or whomever to perform that task, but they're legally responsible.

It's also probably worth mentioning that you should seek legal counsel before doing this for free.
